Microsoft India is focused on creating greater awareness for its products through the student community. 

“We have been more aggressive the past two years covering close to 75 cities,” said Mr Sanket Akerkar, Managing Director, Microsoft India. 

Now that major metros are covered and there are offices for Microsoft India. Now it is time to look into Tier-II cities in Tamil Nadu and rest of India.

Salem, Coimbatore and Madurai were among the first few cities that Microsoft reached out in Tamil Nadu.

Free Service platform for small business - A Madurai Software Company

A Madurai engineer has designed a free web operating system to meet all needs of small businesses. Apptivo, designed by Bastin Gerald, an alumnus of Thiagarajar College of Engineering now operating from Fremont in the US, has varied applications that automate common business operations.

Demonstrating his platform to reporters here on Wednesday, Mr. Bastin said that Apptivo came with over 40 free applications in a secure cloud platform. It had over 10, 000 users worldwide, most of them in the US. India, he said, was an emerging market and students coming out of colleges were keen to start their won business. The software for the platform was written in India, mostly in Madurai, he added.

Apptivo, he said, had a full-fledged development centre in Madurai with 90 software professionals. The platform can handle project management, invoicing, timesheets, customer relationship management, human resource, e-commerce and other essential activities of small and medium enterprises. Apptivo fundraising apps for SMEs and 50 other applications - a Madurai company

US-based Apptivo, which claims to be the world’s first software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that manages all aspects of a small business, says its new fundraising application can tackle such woes of start-ups and SMEs. The company has its development centres in Madurai and Chennai.

Dot Com Infoway has been recently appraised at Level 3 of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI V 1.2 DEV) for software engineering and organizational management from the Carnegie Mellon Software Engineering Institute (CMSEI), U.S.A

Madurai, Tamil Nadu -- 02/23/2011 -- Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) is a process improvement approach that can guide in improving organizational functions, setting improvement goals and in the standardization of quality processes. CMMI is a prestigious and internationally accredited model for best practices in software and organizational development.
