The Agricultural Land has to be Punjai Land and should be considered as Tharisu Land. Then only it can be laid out and sold as investment or residential plots.

Nanjai lands cannot be sold as Investment plots or residential plots. Hence it is ok to buy Agricultural lands.

Even for the conscience it is ok to buy these lands, because everybody wants a piece of land in Madurai, (if you are Madurai).

Even people from other cities of Tamil Nadu and also from Kerala are buying Lands in Madurai and outer.

Nila Farms is marked as Punjai Land and considered as Tharisu Land Type. Hence it is ok to be a layout and can be bought as an investment Land.

Agriculture Business - Goat Farming in Madurai a good Business idea

I am seriously thinking about Goat Farming in Madurai. I am looking for an agriculture land of size 2 acres, around Madurai. So that I can start a Goat Farm.

It is great to do agriculture business, and that definitely fetches around Rs.10,000 per month. As you can understand, this cannot be your main business. It should be one of the businesses in your portfolio.

This gives you connection to the land and also some living beings.

Let me know your thoughts on this.

Space Requirement:

50+2 animals = 40 meters x 70 meters.

= 2800 sq.meters.

2800 sq.mts = 30138 sq.fts.

1 cent = 436 sq.fts.

30138 divided by 436 = 69 cents needed for shed.

So, 2 acres of agriculture land will be needed.

1.30 acres will be of grass for Goats and 0.70 will be for Shed.

First that land investment has to be made!

NRIs coming back to do farming!

Today I met an NRI who came back to Chennai from US, after completing almost a decade in US. While I was asking him what are his plans here.

He said he has plans to work in a Software Company, as I am and in addition to that do Farming. He has bought lands worth almost Rupees 50 Lakhs and started farming on that. He has his relatives who can do that and also his wife, his dad would take care and this person would shunt between these two cities and take care of the farming as well.
In turn, he would also go full time into farming as well.

Very interesting. All of the NRIs have things in mind to execute new ideas, but most of them are not bold enough to take bold decisions to come back and at the same time to start something of their own and create a new path. But few do that by avoiding any domestic or foreign jobs and start working for themselves.

I hope seeing these pioneers and examples, slowly and gradually many would dare to do the same, who have interest to do the same.

Very well appreciated!!! Farming is a great business and that too places or cities which river belts - Trichy, Tanjore, Kumbakonam etc., So, they have unlimited crops and agriculture done there, so no need worry about water etc., and cultivation like any other places/cities in Tamil nadu.

Tractors and Farm Equipment (TAFE) on Friday said its entire sub 100 HP range of Massey Ferguson tractors, but one, has been made compatible for use with bio diesel.
