People are used to the troubles

Constant power is expected, but we get always constant power cuts. Awesome.

When will this change? What are all the ruling government and politicians doing? What are the opposition party politicians doing? They don't even have time to manage their own wealth and make their wealth safe. How will they have time to think about common people.

It is again People's mistake. People are used to the power cuts. People learn to live in the dark. People buy inverters, who can afford. People who do not have inverters, how will they work? Even inverters is not the solution.

Even the electricity rates are increased. Why is that there is nobody revolting against all these? Are people happy with the situation?

Politicians blame each other and at last people are making the losses and people are suffering.

People are learning to live in dark. Get up people and revolt against the government or vote better people who can think about you.

A minister who lives with all the facilities will not know the pain of small business owners or the common people who are suffering. Go and catch like the way you did EMU owners. When you are directly affected with money, you go and catch the responsible right?

You are not knowing that you are indirectly affected with your salary and money you are supposed to get and the facilities you are supposed to get. You are making loss every minute because of no proper power and we are losing the rights because of this.

Again, people are used to the troubles and they are learning to live appropriately.

Mixture of people in Madurai - Telugu, Sourashtrians, Muslims, North-Indians and Tamils

Madurai has a great mixture of people considering its history. You can notice this when you go into the heart of the city.

This article will explain about the different sources of people settled in Madurai. In various centuries different variety of people have come and settled in Madurai. Even today, those kind of inward and outward migration is happenning in Madurai.

In very olden days, Krishnadevaraya's kingdom ruled hence there is considerable amount of Kannada speaking population in Madurai and in the belt of Aruppukkottai etc., are there.

In those same ancient times, under Krishnadevaraya's kingdom, Nayakkars were ruling and administering Madurai (cannot forget Thirumalai Nayakkar), hence there is a significant Telugu speaking population in Madurai.

In the same angle, there was a period when Muslims from Delhi ruled Madurai and hence there are considerable amount of Muslims. In the same angle, due to missions, out of interest there are christian population, in addition the Hindu population already existing as a part of India.

Of course, i am not going to talk about the existing Tamil population, because it is anyway Tamil nadu, India.

We all know the origin of Sourashtrians, who came from Gujarat in olden times for making, providing and selling silk materials in Madurai for Nayakkars.

If you notice, there will be significant north-indian (Rajasthan, Gujarath) population settled in Madurai - they all came for business in Madurai - mostly Textiles business.

Recently there is more population from Orissa, Bihar - which is labour population for working in factories and industries in Madurai. They come as cheap labour as on date, which the local population is not willing to work. Most of the local population is studying well and they don't have to go as labour these days.

Most of the muslims do business as well. Few work for some body else.

In other hand, significant number of Malayalees work and stay in Madurai - few do business, but few have come for work, since Madurai is kind of near to Kerala.

Oh, by the way - I forgot a set of people in Railway Colony and Arasaradi area - they are the Anglo-Indians. It is usually said they have the mix of foreigners and Indians, from the times of English period. You would have noticed the same in Aadukalam movie in Tamil film industry.

It is an interesting mixture of different variety of folks in Madurai. Live it and feel it!!

Different Categories of Madurai People by Salaries - Economy of Madurai

I was talking to some of my friends in Madurai and corporate personnel in Madurai for the status of Madurai. Based on those discussions and interviews, here is my inference for Madurai Economy and reality check of the same.

I am not an economist, but just writing my thoughts and putting together my ideas on paper.

Let me classify working people of Madurai in different categories based on their salary.

1) Labour people, who work hard in the bottom of the society and get Rs.2500 per month or less.
2) Lower Middle class people, who earn between Rs.2500 to Rs.7000 per month. Families to feed three or more.
3) Middle class people, who earn between Rs.7000 to Rs.15000 per month.
4) Upper middle class people, who earn between Rs.15000 to Rs.25000 per month.
5) Rich people, who earn anything more than Rs.25000 per month.

The above could be one person to two person earning in a family, so it could be considered as household income. The problem is - people or families would come under my classification or vary time to time - based on the number of family members.

Say for example, a family increases by population and he stays with the same salary, then they slowly come down to a different classification of people in Madurai. Please note that this classification only applies to Madurai.

Ok, now we have classified people. Let us see what do they do -

1) Labour class does all the low level jobs like cleaning, mechanical work, very very hardworking, sweeping, house work etc.,

2) Lower middle class would be two people earning and doing the same work as above labour class. This category is also hard working and lot of manual work job.

3) Middle class is more of people working in offices, clerks and sit and do jobs, accountants etc.,

4) Upper middle class is more of banking, insurance, service, retail and education, teaching, some IT or ITeS related folks.

5) Rich people are more of corporate people, any kind of business men and women, politicians, specifically IT people and at last thugs, who live on interest (finance).
