IT Opportunities in Madurai - a new face of Madurai

Numerous job opportunities available in the software industry in Madurai and the southern districts are to be showcased to the students of engineering colleges in the region through a series of awareness programmes called ‘IT opportunities @ Madurai'. This initiative has been taken by the ICT panel of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Madurai Zone (CII), along with the Software Industries Development Association of South Tamil Nadu (SIDA).and an awareness session was recently held at Kamarajar College of Engineering, Virudhunagar, in which around 500 students and their parents participated.

According to Mr Sivarajah, Convenor of ICT Panel, CII, Madurai Zone, and President, SIDA, a large portion of the workforce of multinational companies in the cosmopolitan and metro cities such as Chennai and Bangalore have been sourced from the institutions in the region.
