Chithra Festival Live from Madurai

This is a very famous festival in Madurai - Could be called Chithirai, Chithra, Chitra festival - which includes marriage of gods - in other words Madurai Meenakshi Thirukkalyanam.

The celestial wedding of the Goddess and the Lord which will be solemnized between the auspicious hours of 8.26 am and 8.50 am on Tuesday at the special wedding hall of the temple, which had been colourfully decorated with a variety of blossoms.

This is a unique ritual which is attended by thousands of devotees from all over the State of Tamil Nadu. The temple authorities have made special arrangements to enable the devotees of the deities the world over, to watch the proceedings alive through internet.
